About Tioman Island
Tioman Island is located off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, in the state of Pahang. Renowned for its lush rainforests, pristine beaches, and vibrant coral reefs, Tioman Island is a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The island offers a range of activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving, jungle trekking, and waterfall exploration. Divers can observe a diverse range of marine life at sites such as Soyak Island, Pirate Reef, and Renggis Island. These locations are ideal for training and less experienced divers, as well as photography. For more experienced divers, sites such as Chebeh, Labas, and Tiger Reef offer deeper waters, sometimes with challenging currents, and the opportunity to see larger species, as well as incredible macro life. Tioman Island also features charming villages, where visitors can experience the local culture and sample traditional Malaysian cuisine. The island is accessible by ferry from the coastal town of Mersing or by flights to the Tioman Airport.
Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit Tioman Island is from May & September when the weather is sunny and the seas are calm, perfect for outdoor activities. October and March are considered the worst months to visit when many resorts may be closed, and transportation to the island can be disrupted.
